Space Recovery Facility Version 2.0 - Softworks' space recovery program for DASD management - New Products: Mainframes: Systems Management - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Software Magazine, Sept, 1992

Softworks, based in Clinton, Md.; has introduced Space Recovery Facility (SRF) Version 2.0, a space recovery program for Dasd management.

SRF globally searches for over-allocated Vsam ESDS and KSDS datasets and non-Vsam sequential and partitioned datasets, then dynamically releases unused space according to user criteria. Simulate reporting has been enhanced to include a dollar value savings, and space release on SMS controlled volumes without SMS ACS routine changes is now available. Selection criteria has been enhanced to allow for space release selection by creation and expiration dates.

Version 2.0 of SRF supports the latest release of DFP, and is compatible with MVS, MVS/XA and MVS/ESA systems. License fees begin at $7,000.
