Unify has Vision - Vision/Web Java development environment - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Software Magazine, Jan, 1997

Unify Corp., San Jose, Calif., has released Vision/Web, a high-level development environment for Java. Vision allows developers to write an application once, and then deploy it on any Java supported platform or any 32-bit Windows platform using ActiveX.

"One of the advantages of our approach is that some others are talking about Java applets and Java generation, but they are just converting screens to Java because you are putting all of the logic on the back end," says Tony Lacy-Thompson, Unify's director of product marketing. "But people want some functionality on the front end. We [offer] the choice of how much logic is on the back end or the front end."
