Manage development process with the Web - HP's SoftBench Project:gv project and process access software - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Software Magazine, Jan, 1997

From Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., SoftBench Project: gv is a project and process access tool that includes configuration management (CM), Web technology and a CM archive.

These technologies are combined with project-notebook and software development life-cycle templates, as well as consulting services. The SoftBench CM component provides the means for versioning, controlling and managing the life-cycle templates.

The product's project and process templates are based on IEEE and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) standards. Project:gv integrates the SoftBench CM server and a firm's Web server, making files in the archive available to project workers and managers via Web browsers. A home page can be set up for each project that includes specifications, defect logs and an archive of SEI-compliant documents with instructions.

Project: gv is $28,000 including the software and consulting.
