Model systems and networks with value analysis - Zitel's Value Analysis Modeling resource management planning tools - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Software Magazine, Jan, 1997

Zitel Corp., Fremont, Calif., recently announced its Value Analysis Modeling (VAM) family of resource management planning tools.

Capacity Planner analyzes and models an enterprise-wide systems architecture including such components as CPUs, I/O throughput and storage by gathering and integrating system statistics from multiple platforms using data collection agents. The product's "what if" modeling capability and hardware knowledge base allow users to drag-and-drop specifications into the enterprise model. It then generates performance reports for comparison to the existing baseline model. NetArchitect is a workload planning tool that analyzes end-to-end user response times and identifies network bottlenecks using an object-oriented knowledge base. The network topologies are designed using a drag-and-drop interface and the network's workload is determined using transaction rates, utilization and CPU service times.

Capacity Planner is $10,000 for the first copy and requires either the Zitel Data Collector or an import filter license. NetArchitect is $6,995.
