Secure-1, from McAfee Associates Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., is a desktop security suite that integrates anti-virus and encryption technologies.

The Secure-1 suite consists of three modules: NetCrypto, which provides transparent peer-to-peer encryption of data, applications and E-mail and supports most encryption methodologies; VirusScan, for anti-virus detection and removal; and WebCrypto, an application for standalone Windows desktops that allows users to create encrypted, self-extracting files that can be sent over the Internet or via E-mail.
