Software Magazine, March, 1997
Savant Corp., Rockville, Md., has taken a diagnostic approach to systems management with its Q Diagnostic Center for Oracle and Client environment management tool.
A database administration tool that diagnoses the health of any Oracle environment, Q enables database administrators to pinpoint client/server problem areas by comparing current performance against normal operating ranges. DBAs can use Q's Instance Overview screen to assess the health of the database with visual controls that create animated pictures of database statistics. The product also includes a PC Viewer that can directly probe client machines.
The Diagnostic Engine runs on Oracle 7.2 or 7.3, and the Viewer runs on Windows 95 or NT. Q is available for $3,400.
