TrueFace CyberWatch - Miros Inc data security software - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Software Magazine, May, 1997

Miros Inc., Wellesley, Mass., has announced Version 1.0 of TrueFace CyberWatch, its data security product based on face recognition technology.

Used in conjunction with a small video camera on top of the monitor, the product verifies the identity of users when they try to access protected data on their computers. When a user's picture is snapped, the product compares it to those stored in an image database of authorized users. TrueFace CyberWatch also stores a face record with every transaction as an added deterrent.

The client software runs on Windows 95 and NT and is priced at $199 per computer. The server version runs on Web servers, NT, NetWare 4.x and Unix and is priced by the number of users.
