File-AID/PC, from Compuware Corp., Farmington Hills, Mich., allows application developers to download and manipulate mainframe application test data for use on the PC.
Its interactive capabilities allow programmers to create, copy, browse, edit and print the test data. Analyzing and editing test data on the PC is accomplished by displaying data using Cobol record layouts as templates. Data can be edited in EBCDIC or Ascii format.
The product requires an IBM-compatible 286 or 386 running at least DOS 3.3 or OS/2 1.1 EE. It also requires Micro Focus Cobol/2 Workbench. If using IMS, Singray IMSVS86 is required.
