M/4 for Windows, from Micro Data Base Systems, Inc., Lafayette, Ind., is a Windows 3.0 database management system that includes an active Data Dictionary, a Microsoft C API, an Object/1 graphical programming language interface and developer tools.

Add-on capabilities include a transaction processing API that offers transaction journaling, roll-forward, roll-back, abortable transaction and fault tolerance; ad hoc query generation; interactive database accessing tools; and database administrative and maintenance tools. A client/server version of M/4 for Windows, MDBS IV, is also available.
