Cambar Software, Charleston, S.C., has introduced the Cambar Shipping Management System (SMS), client/server software for automating distribution center shipping areas.
SMS provides automated links to inhouse order processing, automatic rate calculation, generation of rating and shipment documentation for parcel and truckload carriers, and rate and zone maintenance facilities. SMS is also linked to Cambar's Client/Server Warehousing System and Control II distribution system.
SMS configurations can include 486-based PCs as clients or servers, and Unix workstations or IBM ES/9000s as servers. Pricing for SMS is $30,000.
