American Music Grants - National Music Foundation - Brief Article

The National Music Foundation is awarding grants of $500 and $1,000 to K-12 teachers with unique lesson plans using American music. The lessons can be in any course and can use any type of American music from blues, to rock, to rap. Three first-place winners will each receive $1,000. The five second-place winners will receive $500 each.
All selected lessons will be published on the foundation's Web site, where they will be available at no charge for other teachers to use or adapt. Applications must be received by September 14, 2001. Winners will be notified in January 2002.
