Draw me peace - Giveaways and Grants - peace art by children - Brief Article
Instructor, August, 2002
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) is sponsoring an art contest to promote peace. Children ages four to seven are asked to draw or paint an original, six-picture story illustrating one or more of these themes: respect for all life, sharing, non-violence, listening to understand, preserving the planet, and tolerance and solidarity.
The art will be viewable online and could appear in publications or exhibitions. Two winners per age group (ages 4-5 and ages 6-7) will be chosen to receive prizes suited to their school's needs. Entries are due by September 30, 2002. For more information, visit www.unesco.org/education/painting/index.shtml
