Mini-posters: let your students know that you expect their very best with these supportive and inspirational signs
Instructor, August, 2004
Start the year with high expectations! Positive motivation from teachers--and a positive attitude towards students' learning capabilities--can have a phenomenal effect on students' actual success in the classroom (see "What Do You Expect?" on page 18). Motivational posters are a great way to encourage this overall culture of achievement, and to reinforce students' high hopes for the future. Share a commitment to learning with your students by displaying the mini-posters on the following pages. Laminate and hang the signs near high-traffic areas of your classroom, such as above the pencil sharpener or in the computer center. When students read the mottos "Challenge Yourself," "No Shortcuts," and "Success is in the Effort," they will be reminded that you expect the best from them each and every day!
