Motorized Vehicle Carries Passengers - December in history
Instructor, Nov-Dec, 2001
December 23,1801--On this day, Englishman Richard Trevithick invented the first working passenger car. The automobile, nicknamed "Capt. Dick's Puffer," carried eight passengers up a hill on its first outing. Capt. Dick's Puffer did not use gasoline. Like the first passenger trains, it ran on steam power.
