For Valentine's Day, I give each student a gift bag that they label with their names. Then we discuss complimentary adjectives such as kind, good-natured, cheerful, and so on. Kids sit in a circle and pass the bags clockwise. Each child adds an appropriate adjective to each classmate's bag. Students end up with a Valentine "mailbag" that describes everything their classmates love about them!--Patricia Glynn, Wayland, MA
