Presidential wax museum - Ready to Use

Instructor,  Jan-Feb, 2002  by Angie Smith

Animate your unit on Presidents with a presidential museum! A few weeks before Presidents' Day, ask each student to choose a U.S. president and research his life and work, focusing on five to ten interesting facts. Bring the bios to life in your presidential museum. Ask each child to memorize his or her facts and dress in an outfit appropriate to his or her president.

Invite other classes to your museum. When they arrive, dim the lights in the room and provide visitors with flashlights. When a visitor shines the light on a "president," he or she comes to life, shares the facts, and then returns to the 'wax" pose.
