Softswitch Testing: NetTest - New Products - Brief Article - Product Announcement
Telecommunications, Feb, 2002
NetTest has announced new software for softswitch performance testing. The MGCP (Media Gateway Control Protocol) Functional and Performance Test Suite emulates multiple residential gateways or individual IP phones, so that softswitch makers and network operators can study how their devices perform under extreme signaling loads.
The software emulates a large VoIP network with up to 20 media gateways and thousands of endpoints, according to NetTest. Used with NetTest's interWatch performance and verification system, the test suite imitates IF phones or residential gateways supporting up to 32,000 endpoints with over 2 million busy hour call attempts. The NetTest MGCP Functional and Performance Test Suite is available.
