To deal with SIP's rising presence in the public network, RADCOM has enhanced its VoIP Performer suite with its MegaSIP simulator, a carrier-based solution that generates high volume SIP-based traffic for voIP system testing. By generating thousands of simultaneous SIP-based calls, millions of SIP-based calls per busy hour and thousands of media-based calls using the Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP), providers can evaluate performance of voice and data over IP networks. Included in the MegaSIP Simulator are two measurement capabilities: MegaStress and MediaStress. Generating peak load conditions, reaching 500,000 simultaneous calls and 3 million sessions per busy hour at a setup rate of 2000 calls per second, MegaStress can determine how quickly new calls can be accepted as well as high volume traffic reliability. Incrementally raising the number of register calls and set-up rates, MegaStress can also determine peak capacities of registration servers. By generating outgoing 2000 RTP channels in various cod ecs for SIP calls created by SIP signaling, MediaStress can perform predictive and real-time performance testing of SIP proxies, register servers, mediators and gateways. RADCOM's MegaSIP simulator is available.
