Digital Cross-Connects Expand Role - Technology Information
Telecommunications, Sept, 2000
As networks become increasingly complex, digital cross-connects will play an ever-expanding role in interconnecting disparate traffic protocols and line speeds from the core carrier network to the first mile. According to a new report by Insight Research, the digital cross-connect market will grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 48.1 percent over the next five years, increasing from $4.8 billion by 2005.
Many of these new products will be installed in Cos, user premises, field locations and colocation facilities such as carrier hotels.
