Distributed Architecture Software - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Telecommunications, Sept, 2000

For all the glamour that capacity brings to a service provider, service reliability has been hindered by outdated telecom software. Limited troubleshooting capability, long regression test cycles, lack of recovery management and limited scalability are the main culprits of network failures. To remedy these problems, Equipe has released Evail, a software platform that contains a distributed centralized architecture that speeds the introduction of new features and fault fixtures while simplifying regression testing.

Evail's software architecture facilitates dynamic loading of new processes, including upgrade and downgrade agents to minimize the impact of software changes. In addition, Evail offers automated fault detection and recovery to categorize faults and instantly execute recovery policies based on the class of failure. A policy-based recovery mechanism reduces the need to restart the system. Evail will be available later this year.
