Security Rules Spawn More Lost Luggage

The number of lost or mishandled bags reached a new record in August, as airlines grappled with a huge increase in checked bags generated by new air security rules, the U.S. Department of Transportation reports. "The increased number of bags being checked resulted in more mishandlings," an Air Transport Association spokesman says.
