Universal Brake Parts Expands Hydraulic Brake Product Lines

Autoparts Report, April 25, 2000

Universal Brake Parts (UBP), an Alsip, Ill.-based brake parts maker, is expanding its hydraulic brake products line to include: brake master cylinders, clutch master cylinders, and clutch slave cylinders, as well as kits to rebuild clutch master cylinders and clutch slave cylinders.

Customers that order their "hydraulics" from the company will now be able to combine them with their "iron" and "friction" orders, enabling them to carry smaller inventories, the company said.

"The Universal Brake Parts line has grown dramatically over the last five years, enabling us to become the leading value-line manufacturer of brake parts with significant market share in both the rotor & drum and friction categories," said Arvin Scott, president and chief executive officer of UBS' parent company, Universal Automotive Industries.
