Decoma International Inc. reported stronger third-quarter earnings as sales increased despite a slowdown in North American vehicle demand. Concord, Ontario-based Decoma said earnings for the period ended Sept. 30 were $10.9 million, or 13 cents a share, up from earnings of $9.6 million, or 13 cents a share, on a proforma basis for the same period a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial/First Call expected Decoma to report earnings in a range of 7 cents a share to 16 cents a share with a consensus of 12 cents a share. The company said sales for the period were $420 million, up from $359 million for the same period a year earlier.
