TI Automotive Awarded $350 Million In OEM Contracts

TI Automotive said it has received supply contracts for brake and fuel-storage and delivery systems from four major auto manufacturers worth more than $350-million over the lifetime of the awards. The contract awards are from Ford, Mazda, Volkswagen and Land Rover, according to William J. Laule, TI Automotive's chief executive officer.

The newly awarded business includes: A contract with Ford Motor Co.'s European operations to serve as Ford's full-service supply development partner for brake and fuel-fluid handling systems. An agreement with Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan, to provide product development and production support through Sanoh, a Mazda supply partner. A supply contract with VW Group in Europe and South Africa for rigid and flexhose brake lines.

Production on the components will begin in 2002 at TI Automotive facilities in Europe and South Africa, the company said. A contract to provide Land Rover with totally integrated fuel systems for two models, the first major OEM contract involving TI's new "Ship-In- Bottle" (SIB) technology, the company said.

TI Automotive is a world leader in fluid storage, transfer and delivery systems including brake, fuel and air conditioning applications. The Warren- based company employs over 21,000 people at more than 150 facilities in 29 countries.
