eAutoclaims, Planet Salvage Form Alliance To Offer Recycled Parts Procurement Solution

Autoparts Report, Dec 3, 2001

Planet Salvage, Inc., an online marketplace for the automotive recycled parts and salvage vehicle industries, and eAutoclaims, a company that provides the insurance industry with online claims management solutions, said that Planet Salvage will integrate its PartsNetwork procurement solution with eAutoclaims' "Bricks to Clicks Claims " System.

eAutoclaims said it selected PartsNetwork because of its effectiveness at increasing recycled parts usage on insurance claims, and ultimately lowering costs for their insurance clients. PartsNetwork is an online solution employing a real-time, request for quote (RFQ) sales model where recyclers, repair facilities, and claims representatives estimate, sell, and purchase recycled parts, eAutoclaims said.

"Planet Salvage provides us a customized private exchange PartsNetwork solution that is simple, effective, and can accommodate the different business rules for our different insurance clients," stated Randy Wright, Chief Development Officer at eAutoclaims. "This collaboration with eAutoclaims, a leader in the online claims processing industry, is a clear validation of our business model. Through PartsNetwork's online reporting, eAutoclaims can now effectively track and report recycled parts estimating and procurement," commented Bill Lopez, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Planet Salvage.
