New Board Positions Created By MEMA

The Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) recently created three new positions on its Board of Directors, representing MEMA's market segment divisions: aftermarket -- Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA); heavy duty -- Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA); and original equipment -- Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA).

Charles Johnson, president/CEO of Transpro Inc. and AASA chairman, and Robert F. Egan, vice president, aftermarket sales, the Americas, Federal-Mogul Corp., and HDMA chairman, will serve terms expiring in November 2003.

Larry Denton, president of Dow Automotive, OESA chairman and current MEMA board member, now represents the OE market segment. His term expires November 2005. Also at its November meeting, the board elected four new members: Douglas Herberger, vice president/general manager of GM Service & Parts Operations Michael Johnston, president/COO of Visteon Corp. Peter Morse, president of Morse Automotive Corp. Terry O'Rourke, president/COO of ArvinMeritor Inc.

Michael Cardone Jr., CEO/COO of CARDONE Industries, was re-elected to a term as director. Cardone and the new board members serve terms expiring in November 2006.

Mitsunobu "Tony" Takeuchi, chairman/CEO of Denso International America Inc., was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the board, with a term expiring in November 2003. Board officers are Chairman -- Ronald L. Cutler, vice president, automotive marketing, TRW Automotive First vice chairman -- Scott C. Meyer, president and COO, Ken-Tool Second vice chairman -- Alan S. Dawes, executive vice president and CFO, Delphi Corp. Secretary -- John M. Riess, chairman, president and CEO, BREED Technologies Treasurer -- Eugene E. Ezzell, chairman, president and CEO, Crane Technologies Group John E. Doddridge, chairman and CEO, Intermet Corp., serves on the board as past chairman.

Michael Cardone, president of CARDONE Industries, continues to serve as an executive committee member-at-large.
