The Consortium for Plasma Science LLC of Charlotte and Boston Biomedica Inc. (Nasdaq: BBII) of West Bridgewater, Mass., have agreed to collaborate on the development and commercialization of BBI's proprietary Pressure Cycling Technology for the inactivation of pathogens and other infectious agents in human plasma.

The Consortium will provide initial funding to cover BBI's research efforts, with subsequent funding contemplated during the first half of 2000, and annually thereafter, based on the achievement of milestones. The Consortium will receive royalties on future product sales.
