North Carolina Pavilion for BIO 2004 taking shape

BT Catalyst, Jan-Feb, 2004

Plans for the North Carolina Pavilion at BIO 2004 continue to take shape with a reserved location, companies signing up to participate, and a new coordinator at the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Michael Crossin.

BIO 2004 will be held June 6-9 at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco. The North Carolina Pavilion will encompass 1,400 square feet, a 40 percent increase over last year's Pavilion space. In addition, seven booths adjacent to the Pavilion are reserved for North Carolina biotechnology companies, creating a "North Carolina neighborhood" on the show floor.

The Friends of North Carolina dinner reception, "Scaling the Heights," will be held June 7 on the top floor of the Bank of America building overlooking San Francisco Bay.

The BIO 2004 annual international convention is sponsored by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, an international trade group, and is billed as the world's largest industry meeting. The 2003 event attracted more than 18,000 participants.

For more information, visit www.bio.org/events/2004/. To participate in the North Carolina Pavilion or reception, contact Michael Crossin at (919) 715-5743 or mcrossin@nccommerce.com.
