Richard Moore

BT Catalyst,  July-August, 2002

State Treasurer Richard Moore recently received a Public Servant Award from the Council for Entrepreneurial Development during its recent Annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Award Ceremony on June 18. The CED recognized Moore for his efforts to seek policies and programs to support the education and infrastructure needed to build new businesses and attract capital to North Carolina.

As head of the North Carolina Retirement Systems, he also sought and received authorization to significantly revamp the state's investment statutes. Moore was also credited by CED for establishing a national investment program in private equity and creating a more fertile investment climate that makes the state more attractive to venture capitalists.
