Inveresk Research IPO generates $145m

BT Catalyst,  July-August, 2002

Inveresk Research Group Inc. (Nasdaq: IRGI) of Gary recently raised $145 million through an initial public offering of common stock.

The contract research organization will use most of the raised money to repay debt owed to major stockholders, which should free up more cash for the company's planned expansion.

Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. of New York, and UBS Warburg of Stamford, Conn., acted as co-lead underwriters for the offering.
