Innovation North Carolina seeking underwriters, bioscience success stories for 007 editions

BT Catalyst,  Jan-Feb, 2007

Business North Carolina is preparing the spring and fall 2007 editions of Innovation North Carolina, its annual magazine supplement highlighting university and company research and discovery across the state, and is soliciting underwriters who want their stories told in the publication.

For each page they sponsor, underwriters will get 500 words, plus space for color photographs, to tell their stories in their own words and pictures. Their name will also be prominently displayed on the publication's cover.

The Spring 2007 issue will be inserted in Business North Carolina's June issue and circulated to almost 100,000 readers statewide. The Fall 2007 issue will be distributed to more than 15,000 in-state and national economic-development contacts as a supplement to the 2007 North Carolina Economic Development Guide, published in partnership with the N.C. Department of Commerce. Underwriters will also get 100 copies of Innovation to distribute to their clients, partners and business prospects.

The North Carolina Biotechnology Center will be an underwriter of Innovation for the fourth consecutive year.

"Innovation North Carolina is an excellent opportunity to reach a large and influential audience, audience, inside and outside the state, with bioscience success stories," said Barry Teater, director of corporate communications for the Biotechnology Center. "We encourage other organizations to join us as underwriters. A robust publication will give us and our economic development partners a compelling collateral piece for strengthening North Carolina's biotechnology brand and attracting bioscience companies, capital and talent to the state."

The deadlines for reserving advertorial space are Feb. 1 for the spring issue and July 13 for the fall issue. Contact Melanie Weaver at 919-855-9380; mweaver@businessnc.com.
