Bhs Receives $1m From Bif

BT Catalyst,  Oct, 1999

Business and Healthcare Systems Inc. (BHS) of Research Triangle Park has received $1 million in first-round financing through the North Carolina Bioscience Investment Fund, created by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in 1998.

BHS, the fifth company to receive venture capital through the fund, is about to launch a service offering aimed at correcting errors in complex health-care databases -- a process known as data scrubbing.

Beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, BHS will provide a Web-based turnkey solution to health-care companies seeking to eliminate errors in Legacy patient, prescription and insurance transaction databases.
