* Paradigm Genetics Inc. (Nasdaq: PDGM) of Research Triangle Park has received its first U.S. Patent. Patent 6,303,365, titled "Method of determining activity of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate reductoisomerase and 1-deoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate synthase," is for a gene that produces a potential herbicide target protein.
