* Music over the Web is gaining tempo. Search engine and portal Yahoo! Inc. acquired broadcast.com inc. for $6.2 billion to enable users to create and access music and video over the Web. Also, Excite Inc. said it would deploy Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media Player on its search engine. Separately, AT&T, GTE and Sprint agreed to adopt Real-Networks Inc.'s media streaming technology.
