Microsoft Corp. and Ericsson AB announced a strategic partnership to develop and market wireless Internet services based on a combination of Ericsson's Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) stack and Microsoft's Mobile Explorer. However, Ericsson denied it would use Windows CE operating system in its handsets, and said it would continue to work with the Symbian consortium technology EPOC.
