* The European Commission is considering plans to ban anonymous electronic mail, which it claims is used for criminal purposes. The move is expected to be recommended by the European Parliament's Commission for Citizen's Freedoms, Rights, Justice and Home Affairs in a bid to help on-line surveillance of criminals across Europe.
