Record number of entries for WCA - World Communications Awards

CommunicationsWeek International, August 13, 2001 by Michelle Donegan

The World Communications Awards attracted the most entries since it began three years ago, promising to be the most exciting event yet. The exceptional participation shows that many in the industry have not lost their enthusiasm for telecoms, even in the wake of the dot-com downturn.

The most entries came in the categories of Most Innovative Service and Technology Foresight, which will go to service providers who demonstrated unique and effective use of technology.

Other categories, such as Best New Carrier or Best Electronic Commerce Service, also indicated that newcomers to the industry are still thriving with realistic business goals.
