The ongoing dispute between MobilCom AG and France Telecom dispute raged unresolved as CWI went to press - News in Brief - Brief Article

The ongoing dispute between MobilCom AG and France Telecom dispute raged unresolved as CWI went to press. The two companies are in disagreement over France Telecom's investment commitments in Germany's number-six operator, in which it has a 28.5% stake. MobilCom threatened to disclose agreements between the operators, which might force France Telecom to take control of a further 33% of MobilCom.

As a result, the indebted French operator would take over MobilCom and assume its [euro]5 billion in debt. There may be a get-out clause for France Telecom, however, which alleges a company controlled by MobilCom's chief executive's wife, Sybille Schmid-Sindran, used MobilCom's money to buy a 5% stake in the German operator. Meanwhile, MobilCom last week announced a two-week delay in its financial reporting, moving the date to 20 March.
