As part of the agreement, IBM will market and sell WorldSecure Server, offering customers a combined solution for their overall information security needs. "E-mail security is high on the list of information security requirements," commented Gerry Young, IBM eNetwork Firewall Projects Office Manager. "Our customers use e-mail as a primary business communication tool. They are concerned about liabilities and risks associated with the lack of e-mail security. WorldSecure's comprehensive e-mail security solution offers a unique way to protect e-mail systems and significantly adds to the benefits of the IBM eNetwork Firewall Solution Pack." WorldSecure Server is the industry's first e-mail security and policy management solution. It first shipped in September of 1997. Since then, organizations have deployed WorldSecure Server to ensure confidentiality of their external e-mail communications, protect their intellectual property, and prevent SPAMs and viruses. Others have deployed WorldSecure to ensure compliance to key government regulations governing the usage of e-mail, such as SEC and NASD regulations. The IBM eNetwork Firewall Solution Pack is a bundle of select applications that offer a comprehensive information security solution, including network and access security products, such as IBM eNetwork Firewall, and content security solutions such as Worldtalk's WorldSecure Server. IBM eNetwork Firewall customers can download an evaluation copy of WorldSecure Server from IBM's web page at http://www.software.ibm.com/enetwork/firewall/downloads/solutionnpack/ worldtalk/. Customers can also contact their IBM sales representative to purchase WorldSecure Server. "Organizations no longer settle for point security solutions," said Simon Khalaf, vice president of marketing at Worldtalk Corporation. "Our customers are looking for comprehensive solutions that bring together firewalls with e-mail and content security solutions. This is what IBM's solution pack provides, especially when it is backed by IBM's world-class distribution channel, services, and support organizations." The WorldSecure Server is a Windows NT-based e-mail firewall and policy management software solution that complements existing messaging systems. The Server is among the first of its kind to offer robust e-mail security countermeasures combined with a policy management engine for the enforcement of virus protection, e-mail encryption and digital signature, access and content control, and archival. The IBM eNetwork Firewall, part of the IBM's SecureWay offerings, enables safe, secure e-business by controlling all communications to and from the Internet. This firewall technology was developed by IBM research in 1985 and has been protecting IBM and global corporations' assets for more than 10 years. Unlike most other firewalls, the IBM firewall contains all three critical firewall architectures filtering, proxy, and circuit level gateway - to provide customers both a high level of security and flexibility. Worldtalk is a leading Internet security company focused on providing e-mail security solutions that enable organizations to safely and efficiently use the Internet for global business communication. Worldtalk solutions include the award-winning WorldSecure product line, which provides customers across a broad range of industries with the safe exchange of information across intranets, extranets and the Internet. The company's products are marketed and sold worldwide by Worldtalk, resellers and distributors. FMI: http://www.worldtalk.com.
