"As Teleglobe enjoys rapid global expansion, these new additions and changes to the executive team will help us to ensure that the same explosive growth continues," said Guidi. "Our senior team has the depth and experience we need, as we roll out new products and services to new customers and markets worldwide." Stephen Beebe has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. Beebe comes to Teleglobe from Global One, where he served as Vice President. With over 15 years of experience in the international telecommunications industry in a variety of financial management positions, Beebe will manage the full spectrum of financial responsibilities to meet the organization's rapidly growing needs. Beebe replaces Michel Cayouette, who has been named to the newly created position of Vice President and General Manager of the Pacific Rim and Vice President, Business Strategy. John Brunette becomes Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In his most recent position with MCI, Brunette was responsible for its merger and acquisition, finance and securities activities. With nearly 15 years of telecommunications experience, he is responsible for supporting all Teleglobe Communication Corporation's legal and business activities. Jack Norris has been named Chief Network Officer, a newly created position. Mr. Norris, who was most recently Senior Vice President for Global Engineering at MCI, has more than 20 years experience in telecommunications. Norris will assume this senior leadership role in the strategic development and management of Teleglobe's global telecommunications network, the second largest intercontinental network worldwide and one of the company's strongest assets. He will oversee all Teleglobe network functions including planning, building and operations. As part of this effort to build and strengthen the network organization, Steve Heap has joined as Vice President, Global Network Planning and Engineering. Heap was formerly with Concert Communications, the joint venture between MCI and British Telecom, and has more than 20 years experience in telecommunications in the United Kingdom. Heap, who reports directly to Jack Norris, is responsible for the ongoing design, development and deployment of Teleglobe's network. The job was formerly held by Dominique Jacquet, who has moved to a newly created position, Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Teleglobe is recognized as a leader in global telecommunications. The Teleglobe network links North America with over 240 countries and territories, meeting the global connectivity needs of established and emerging wireline and wireless carriers from around the world, as well as those of Internet service providers, multinational corporations and broadcasters. The company ranks as the second largest owner of international undersea fiber optic cable systems.
