AT&T WorldNet Service, the nation's leading direct Internet access service, introduced a new version of its set-up software featuring a host of new capabilities, including an easy access "Fix-it" feature that remedies problems quickly and easily.
The new software, which integrates Microsoft's recently released Internet Explorer 5 browser, introduces capabilities that benefit the expanding range of Net users, from those on the go to those in the home. The new software is available for systems running Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.

AT&T WorldNet Service 5.0 software's new features include: o Access Number Management: Lets users keep a virtual phonebook of frequently-dialed POP (point-of-presence) numbers on their desktop, enabling easier management of multiple dial-in access numbers. This feature is especially useful for those who actively travel and require several dial-up numbers at their disposal.
* Easy-Access "Fix-it" Utility: Customers can run this program to perform an automatic reset of their AT&T WorldNet Service configurations. If a problem exists, or their connection is not properly configured, the Fix-It program locates the problem and corrects it automatically.
* Auto Disconnect: After users close their Internet applications, a helpful pop-up window reminds them to disconnect from the service.
* Internet Explorer 5: Microsoft's latest browser is integrated within the AT&T WorldNet setup, enabling users to take advantage of the browser's latest enhancements, including better performance, a more flexible user configuration, off-line browsing and greater ease-of-use which saves users time.
"AT&T WorldNet Service is committed to providing its subscribers with the best online customer service experience available anywhere in the industry," said Michael Chaplo, AT&T WorldNet Service Marketing Vice President. "This new software release, coupled with the integration of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, will give AT&T WorldNet users an unprecedented amount of control over their Internet experience - right from the start."
AT&T WorldNet Service will begin mailing new version 5.0 set-up discs in April, 1999. Software is presently available for download at www.att.com/worldnet. Current AT&T WorldNet Service members can find the upgrade software at www.worldnet.att.net/care/upgrades.
