Internet Banking: Information Technology, Inc. and Unisys Integrate Technologies for Secure Internet Banking - Company Business and Marketing

EDGE, On & About AT&T, May 3, 1999

Wednesday at the Information Technology, Inc. (ITI) National Users Conference, Unisys Corporation announced the Unisys Security Solution.

The service will be designed to help financial institutions develop, implement and maintain critical Internet security. It will operate in conjunction with Connect3, ITI's Internet home banking software solutions. In addition, ITI announced that they will endorse and resell the new security solution to financial institutions throughout the United States.

By tightly integrating Connect3 with the Unisys Security Solution, ITI and Unisys will offer an Internet banking solution coupled with a robust firewall, intrusion detection and security monitoring technology for financial institutions.

The Unisys Security Solution will be an integrated security solution that includes firewall, intrusion detection, remote monitoring and management services specifically designed for financial institutions connected to the Internet. When integrated with a financial institution's Web server, the solution is intended to provide a secure environment for interactive financial transactions over the Internet. Working directly with financial institutions, Unisys will develop a customized Internet security policy for each institution's specific requirements. Remote security monitoring of the institution's Internet activity will be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the state-of-the-art Unisys Security Command Center.

"Today, security concerns remain one of the last obstacles to mass consumer acceptance of Internet based financial services," said Rodney Poskochil, president and CEO of ITI. "The combination of ITI's PCbanc and Connect3 technology, coupled with the Unisys Security Solution, will provide financial institutions with a secure environment for customer transactions."

"Unisys provides network consulting, design, implementation and remote management services for business-critical networks throughout the world," noted Gerry Gagliardi, president of Unisys Global Customer Services. "As a result, we are uniquely positioned to provide the Internet security consulting, systems, and monitoring required by financial institutions - enabling them to focus more resources on customer service and product development. We are proud to work with an established market leader such as ITI to deliver this robust solution."

Connect3, ITI's virtual banking middleware product and it's associated delivery channels -- including telephone, kiosk, and personal computers -- delivers both Internet and private network banking into the homes and offices of customers and prospects. Connect3 controls security access, activity logging, service charging, reporting, file backup, and is the interface with ITI's Premier II account information database.

Connect3 is the common point of access to customer accounts. Connect3 provides up-to-the-minute account balances and activity, processes requests for product information, and handles electronic messages between bank representatives and their electronic banking customers. Connect3 accepts customer bill payments, Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers, stop payments, and other transactions. Connect3 and the ITI electronic banking modules are powerful tools allowing customers comprehensive banking from virtually anywhere and corporate clients the range and control they require.
