Rum bottle lights up, plays music

Food & Drug Packaging, Oct, 2002

A full bodied, ultra premium rum from Barbados, Coyopa is hand crafted in small batches by RL Seale & Co. Aged 10 years in oak barrels, Coyopa has a rich, buttery molasses taste. But, while the flavor is rich and decadent, the product's bottle adds even more fun to the imbibing experience.

Copoya's patented Active Label[R] is animated by a backlight that is activated each time the bottle is lifted. The light illuminates pictures of dancers in sequence, giving the illusion that the dancers are moving. A music chip is also activated and a steel drum song, composed especially for Coyopa, accompanies the dance.

The circuits and illuminating elements are thin enough to be encased in a label that is no thicker than a regular paper label. The batteries and chips are located in the base of the bottle and are completely water-proof.
