Chips Ahoy! gets resealable flap

Food & Drug Packaging,  Oct, 2005

Chips Ahoy!, one of the most established and lucrative brands in the Kraft Foods portfolio, is getting resealable packaging for its soft versions.

Kraft came out in July with Snack 'n Seal technology for Chewy Chips Ahoy! The packaging features a top panel with a resealable flap that allows easy access to the cookies in a tray inside. Two slits that appear on either side of the opening indicate whether the package has been opened, providing tamper evidence.

Snack 'n Seal packaging is now available on 15-ounce packages of Chewy Chips Ahoy! and Chocolate Chewy Chips Ahoy!

"According to ACNielsen in-home testing conducted in 2004, we found that consumers, particularly moms, are constantly searching for convenience and ease when it comes to snacking," says Jeanine Maresca, Chips Ahoy! brand manager.
