Accurate fill-to-weight filler performs on demanding rigid container packaging lines

The combination of accurate servo auger with a versatile conveyor system and the Cerebus II computer filling control system results in an accurate, high-speed filling system for the most demanding rigid container packaging lines. Model BDS-SV automatic dual head/dual servo motor fill to-weight system achieves accuracies of 0.1% to 0.25% of net or gross target weights. It accurately dispenses powders into multiple size and weight containers at high speed, using a combination air cylinder lift/loadcell to raise containers from a moving conveyor and determine tare, intermediate and final fill weights. Depending on the weighing mode, direct drive servo fill motors automatically adjust operating speeds to match desired fill weight and product density. Dual Cerebus III controls provide independent control, calibration, test, operation functions and weight statistical data at each fill station.

Removable pressure-sensitive adhesive can be removed and reapplied without leaving a sticky residue

REP-4 ultra-removable pressure-sensitive adhesive removes cleanly from almost all surfaces. The emulsion acrylic adhesive can be reapplied numerous times without leaving an adhesive residue or fiber tear. It can even be removed cleanly from paper and glass without building an adhesion. REP-4 can be coated on a variety of papers or films, including polyester and polypropylene, and can be pattern coated for maximum versatility.

With accessories, it can also crimp and trim tubes and is available in hand operated or pneumatically powered versions. The tube coder is designed for single or double side coding of tubes with letters and figures, for serial numbers, expiration dates and more. The code is placed on the fold of the tube or on the welded seam of plastic/laminated tubes. Accessories include tube holders, crimping jaws and a cutting device for neatly trimming the welded seam on plastic or laminated tubes.

Line of volumetric fillers upgrades to PLC controls--enhancing capability, longevity and easy interface with other equipment

Upgraded volumetric cup fillers now include PLC controls, which help extend the life of the equipment, enhance the capability to handle photoelectric sensors and allow for simple interface with other packaging equipment. The filler's standard enclosure is a fiberglass NEMA 4X box that can be remote mounted, if desired. A stainless steel enclosure is offered as an option. Controls include the power switch, E-Stop and volume adjustment. The E-Stop will cut out high voltage without turning off the PLC's logic. The control circuit is a solid state, 24-volt system designed for safety and long life. Standard machine electrics are 120-volt, single phase but other voltages are optionally available. An optional keypad operator interface .adds further control choices for the machine including a cycle counter, variable timing functions and a choice of fill complete signals--pulse, busy or done. The interface can also be used to control slide gates at the fill point; and slave to a second filler, conveyor, light tower warning lights and the level control.

The Paragon[TM] Dual Tamp print-and-apply system is an efficient and cost-effective solution for labeling products, cartons, cases and pallets. With the Dual Tamp applicator, labels can be placed at a rate of up to 20 ppm, depending on print engine, label size and length of applicator swing arm. Labeling configurations are custom selectable as a leading and adjacent panel application or a following and adjacent panel application. Designed to apply preprinted and/or blank labels, Dual Tamp allows packagers to print pressure-sensitive labels "on demand" and apply them automatically, in a single easy operation.
