Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (www.ul.com or 847-664-3574) has opened a new pallet testing facility at its Northbrook, Ill., location to evaluate the physical performance of plastic, wood and metal pallets. The 4,500-square-foot testing space will house equipment designed to measure pallet deflections under various load conditions. The performance of UL Classified pallets will be defined by a single standard.

The facility will also test pallets to proprietary standards and requirements.
