Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedCarton design reduces pilferage
Food & Drug Packaging, March, 2002
Durafold[TM] Security Packaging is a theft-resistant packaging option designed to help consumer product companies reduce the incidence of pilferage in retail environments. Durafold is a sealed-end style folding carton made using a proprietary polypropylene-based synthetic paperboard providing tear resistance and stronger seals. Durafold cartons prevent products from being removed from their package in the store. The cartons are nearly identical to paperboard cartons in appearance and weight and are easier for consumers to open at home compared to rigid-plastic clamshells, according to the manufacturer. Durafold cartons fill and seal on existing cartoning equipment and can be decorated using print techniques such as offset, flexo, silkscreen printing and hot-foil stamping.
