Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc - milk-based drink features flip-top cap - Brief Article

Food & Drug Packaging, March, 2003

New single-serve Raging Cow flavored milk-based drinks from Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. sport the category's first flip-top cap, a proprietary design by Novembal, a division of Tetra Pak, based in Lyon, France. (See F&DP's New Packages, Feb. 2003, p.38.)

Kyle Rose, manager of corporate communications, says the company chose a flip-top cap for a number of masons. The unique closure signals a unique product and helps differentiate from the competition. It also works well from a convenience point of view for on-the-go consumers in three ways: (1) You don't have to remove the cap to remove the induction seal; (2) You can open and close it easily with one hand; and (3) The top flips all the way open and stays there so it doesn't touch the face during drinking.
