Food & Drug Packaging, April, 2002
Convenient frozen food bowl products continue to grow in popularity yet there haven't been many seafood options in this type of container for consumers until now. Mrs. Paul's[R] Shrimp Bowls tap into the brand's expertise in seafood preparation while also helping to meet one of today's most important consumer needs--convenience.
According to Bryan Olson, Mrs. Paul's Brand Director, preparation difficulties and lack of convenience or availability are frequently cited reasons for consumers' decisions in not eating seafood more frequently.
"People who love the quality of Mrs. Paul's seafood will now be able to enjoy the convenience of the Shrimp Bowls," explains Olson. "They cook in only five minutes, providing an easy-to-cook option for a great tasting lunch or dinner."

The frozen bowl is packaged in a paperboard container accenting the Mrs. Paul's logo and sharp graphics of the prepared product.
The polyethylene terephthalate bowl inside the primary packaging has a sealed film overwrap, which needs to be slit before preparing the product in either a microwave or conventional oven.
The Shrimp Bowls also capitalize on the general growing trend in seafood consumption.
The product, which was released to retailers in mid-January of 2002, are available in four shrimp varieties including: Shrimp Alfredo, Shrimp Stir Fry, Thai Peanut Shrimp and Sweet & Sour Shrimp.
