Food & Drug Packaging, April, 2005
For many packaging and assembly operations, responsiveness and adaptability are keys to handling customer demands, market opportunities and ideas for improved efficiency.
To give businesses these advantages for material handling, Nercon Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. offers Modular Conveyor Express, a program that enables a system to be ready and running in days rather than weeks. The concept begins with a complete line of stock modular conveyor components which can make up virtually any conveyor line layout.
All commonly requested items are kept in stock, so when your order is placed, Nercon can assemble and ship within three to five days. A computer-aided design (CAD) file library makes non-stock components ready for quick fabrication.

This program gives access to a wide selection of more than 1,500 components plus parts to build a complete system. Product families include tabletop conveyors, mat style conveyors and stainless steel belt conveyors.
Tabletop conveyors. The workhorse for package and product handling, these conveyors are available in stainless steel or mild steel. The heavy duty frames are 5.5 inches deep (8 inches on drive ends), 11-gauge, painted of stainless frames ensure rugged durability. Clip-on top 1/8-inch ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) wearstrips and 5/8-inch UHMW serpentine chain return guarantee smooth and quiet operation.
Mat-style conveyors. From individual products to bulk loads, these mat-style conveyors are application-oriented and value-priced, and offer unparalleled versatility. Modular Conveyor Express offers a wide selection of belts which results in a variety of design possibilities. From 3 to more than 15 inches wide, these conveyors meet most material handling requirements.
Stainless steel belt conveyors. These conveyors are designed to be used in a wide variety of applications. They are useful in applications where smooth, nonporous conveying surfaces are desired or where a higher coefficient of friction is required. Belt conveyors may also work in applications where airflow and drainage are not acceptable.
Nercon's Modular Conveyor Express program is also ideal for temporary conveyor layouts. The components are interchangeable and can be a cost-effective conveyor layout for market tests or seasonal products.
The recently expanded Modular Conveyor Express Web site includes component specifications and equipment photos, video closeups, downloadable CAD templates and interactive pricing worksheets.
